My First Chocolate

"I've fallen in love," she screamed! Yes, it was my dear mom who exclaimed this a few days after my birth. I suppose she needed that long to realise what'd hit her! [chuckle]. Well, my arrival was also celebrated with a big box of customised chocolates with my details all over the wrapper (thanks mausi!). As everyone around me devoured those sleek bars, I lay in my mom's lap lapping up my daily ration of the white gold. I was almost done with my meal when something fabulous hit me...and no, it wasn't the rum-infused-chocolate-pudding. It was pure milk chocolate! Yes, it was the very heavenly bar my mom had been relishing as she'd started to feed me. It'd taken this long for that thing to find it's way to me. And yes, this was my first chocolate in more ways than one!! Psst...Vaibhavi (thanks manna!) is essentially my first name till my dear parents make up their mind. ;-)

Learning for the day - Mom, thanks...but forget love, I'd rather fall in chocolate!

My First Toy

Today, I was placed on the bed of a "tropical jungle" - my first toy. Initially, I was a little scared of the suspended animals, but perhaps it was just my discomfort. So, after I'd relieved myself royally, I decided to make some jungle friends. Suspended from a branch using his curly tail, a little monkey seemed to mock my every attempt to reach him. His smile, ears, eyes quite seemed to resemble the people I see around me. Interestingly enough, they seem to have lost their tails. Then, I turned my attention to the little blue jumbo who seemed to beckon me with his tiny rattle. He was a friendly chap and we agreed we would jam together someday.

Learning for the day - Humans are tail-less monkeys and elephants can fly!

My First 'Drink'

My mom's been feeding me for a few days now and I'm beginning to quite enjoy this diet. Contrary to what many may believe, this stuff rocks! Don't believe me? Fine, I'll let you in on a little secret - but do promise to keep it to yourself. We're actually served 3 courses - the feed starts off as a light liquid which I lap up quite rapidly; When you see me consuming in long deep draws, I'm in the midst of my main course; Finally, there is the part I enjoy most - dessert! It's kinda like a rum infused chocolate pudding - ultimate bliss!

Learning for the day - The best things in life, come to those who wait (two courses)!

My First Photo

This is what my parents claim is my first proper portrait ever. An amazing shot, don't you think? Barely a few minutes had passed since I'd popped out. The paediatrician ridded me of the uterine mucous, the mid-wife cleaned me and wrapped me up in a towel. It was then that a trigger-happy dude showed up and dazed me with this snap. It was only when he remarked at how heavenly I looked, did I recognise his voice - It was my Papa!

Learning for the day - I now know why they're called the PAPArazzi!
